Completely inauthentic coming from me as I've never set foot Down Under - got it off a website glossary of Aussie slang and something about the expression appealed to me.

Still - my parents did meet on a South Pacific cruise to Australia and back, so it can be legitimately argued that without Australia, I wouldn't be here now....
