Working on the car this weekend it appears that the previous owner's aim was to give the impression od a properly installed engine. Either that or he was mighty forgetful. Every second bolt on every accesory was finger-tightened. The crankshaft pulley bolt came undone without locking the crankshaft first. The aircon compressor practically fell off. I'm very glad I'm pulling the engine rather than just fixing it in situ.

I'm going to need a bigger space to work in though, damn not having a real workshop!!
