Microsoft IS a diverse company: I just received a call from a lovely lady called Jan who asked about the number of PC's we build for onselling each year (zero). About halfway through the short interview I realised I was actually talking to John. Hopefully my kiwi accent disguised the fact that I'd been clearly calling him 'Jan' throughout the interview...

They had 4-year old information that originated from Seagate. For a while we were an authorised reseller of Seagate drives, simply because we wanted cheap drives and the application form didnt ask if we were actually going to be reselling them- it just presumed. "How many drives do you use a year?" it asked. "about 12" we answered honestly.

Either that or the last time I had to register with microsoft to download something I pressed the "Computer Manufacturer" button during my random misinformation spree... though they had my real phone number so thats unlikely.
