On a related note. I had a car conversation with someone recently about LED intrument panels in late-model cars.
They agreed with me that it was not as desirable as good old fashioned analog tachometers and Gages.
LED's in some instances can be more precise but when you think of automobile illumination/information. If your battery voltage is low. Your LED readout might display " check battery". I want to exactly how "dead" my battery is, I'll need an analog guage. Take this example for instance:
Suppose someone was independently wealthy. Imagine they call the Porche Delership to say "Wrap me up the snazziest fastest sportiest model you got. I'll pic it up at 5pm. "
They get there to take delivery of their new dream car and instead of the sexy analog gages they see blue l.e.d.'s for everything. Not fun.
