Blue day

I hate blue LED's. There, I said it. They're tacky, overused, and too eyecatching for something that tells you your toaster is 'on'. And now, validation from a Wired News article. IT's official: Blue LED's are tired and overused, they make you depressed, and they hurt your eyes.

Cool people always preferred red LED's anyway.

I actually prefer the black-light purple LEDs...so there.

I agree with "blue" doesn't fit here. What do you think of amber dashboard back-lights?

On a related note. I had a car conversation with someone recently about LED intrument panels in late-model cars.

They agreed with me that it was not as desirable as good old fashioned analog tachometers and Gages.

LED's in some instances can be more precise but when you think of automobile illumination/information. If your battery voltage is low. Your LED readout might display " check battery". I want to exactly how "dead" my battery is, I'll need an analog guage.
Take this example for instance:

Suppose someone was independently wealthy.
Imagine they call the Porche Delership to say
"Wrap me up the snazziest fastest sportiest model you got. I'll pic it up at 5pm. "

They get there to take delivery of their new dream car and instead of the sexy analog gages they see blue l.e.d.'s for everything. Not fun.

Amber dash lights are fine if as long as the gauges have white needles- red needles get lost in the clutter. My preference is for green lettering with orange needles though. And I do like Saab's black panel- at night the speedometer is iluminated and nothing else, unless a gauge is reading an abnormal level, in which case its illumination is turned on. Nice :-)

I cant imagine Porsche doing anything as tacky as fitting blue lighting to their cars, especially as its been proven to be difficult to look at...

Red is annoying!

I much prefer the blue lighting on my VW Passat, than I ever did the amber in my Audi!

red is better. to show a good example. A sex venue should have Red lighting as it gives the impression of passion and heat. thus making patrons more in the mood. Some venues prefer blue lights making it cold and sterile. I dont get turned on by it.

But talking about car instrument panels I like the new falcon as they are red and purple. You know I like purple. I swear i am a lesbian. LOL (ewwe bad though for our video! LOL)

Oh cool, I never thought about purple on dashlights. That could have possibilities.

Bah. My toast is perfect thanks to those blue LED's. Red LED's just don't toast as well.

Apple has done an interesting thing, though... the green LED on the AirPort Express basestation is closer to a true green than the yellow-green of most LED's. It stands out just because the color is so unexpected.

Purple LED's will be the next wave. Does anyone make them yet?

Soon you will be able to dislike lots of other colours too. Apparently they have worked out how to make them in all the colours of the rainbow. Puce?

They look really cool especially with the red with it. Looks modern and well sexy if you are a car nut
