They're rumoured to be awesome on the MR2- very resistant to hydroplaning and with awesome tracking and turn-in, but with the dry grip of a semi-slick. They even release gently at the limit. The Toyos are grippier, but more agressive at the limit and until I've learned to drive the MR2 properly I think the more forgiving nature of the GS-D3 is a good choice.
