Its been a bad week for electronics: first my camera got sat on during the Moviebears showing of Dreamgirls, then I spilled soup on my laptop and broke it (though it smells delicious), and now my phone, already a bit creaky and aged, has decided to eject the battery cover whenever it vibrates. Hurrumph.

I am, however, very excited about a few business ideas that have been floating around- time to get busy I think. BUt first, it's waterblasting up at Site3. have to earn extra cash somehow...

Oh, and job? I have this week off as well, I'm getting paid which means its coming out of my holiday allowance, though I'm expected to be on call, so I have to stay in the country at least. I'm not sure just how legal that is: if you're forcing someone to take holiday time, then you cant tell them what they can or cant do while on holiday, surely?

Still, its good to have time to figure some things out.

Missing SF and all my friends, though the traditional sunday afternoon winefest made me happy to be home again. I just wish Robbie and Fish were here to share it with me. Time to get plane tickets, boys!

I suspect that from a legal perspective expecting you to be on call while on annual leave is indeed somewhat dodgy.

Not knowing anything about NZ labour law - it does sound dodgy to me, but I think you should check into it. If indeed it turns out to be illegal, perhaps politely inform the boss in a "Did you know? If someone really wanted to be nasty about it..." kind of way.

I made chicken soup for a friend last week and while taking it over to her house it sloshed and spilled in the floorboard of my truck. I sopped it up and didn't think much of it til the next day when my truck smelled of rancid chicken grease. Eek! Try getting THAT odor out of your upholstery! I hope it was you who sat on your camera at Dreamgirls and not someone of a larger presence.

Hey, whatever happened to the red bearded future husband? I never got to see a pic and I was SO looking forward to one.

One more thing, I realize I don't really know you, but you really should move to the US. We need more pocket bears here. Just my .02!

Well, it's good that you're putting your "off" time to good use, and jumping on your ideas. Then you'll have more options should your boss pull any more ugly tricks.
Miss you, too!

Sorry to hear about all the electronics breaking down around you!
I almost thought you had forgot to pack one of your adventurous toys when you were over here:

But it was just the new toilet plunger Phil had bought.

:)
