Today will be expensive.

That's a knock sensor off a 4AGZE. It's not normally in two pieces like that. Toyota retail: $360. Aftermarket retail: are you mad? I'm not replacing a critical part, one that stops my engine from melting its own pistons, with an aftermarket part.

That's my phone, primary email and web browsing device, and my digital brain. Come to think of it, that's what my actual brain looked like the other night, but it seemed to have put itself together by morning. Not so with this wee beastie. Replacement (shiny, updated, smaller, better, faster, more replacement): $400.

ow ow ow ow ow.

Oh, and in case you're wondering? Yes, the phone did break when I put it in my pocket along with the broken knock sensor. You can laugh now- I know I am.

I can feel your pain... once I started buying my own stuff (instead of comfortably using the -wares provided by my generous parents) I remember each and individually everyone of the three glasses (total value: 6 euros) I've broken in small domestic accidents.

I've never broken something as valuable as a PDA, though. I think my cursing would be loud enough to be heard from two or three blocks.

It was kind of funny, having a broken $360 part break a $400 phone. I laughed, at any rate. No point being angry, the damage is done an no-one to blame but myself.
