Queen of the Whole Universe is an annual drag pageant to benefit HIV charities in New Zealand. This year they made $47,000 for the cause, and broke a Guinness world record by having 47 drag queens on stage at one time.

Urge bought a whole row on the balcony, safely out of heckling range, although our fearless leaders Alan and Paul abandoned us for their swanky seats near the front. We didn't mind, it was a fab show anyway. We had a couple of spare tickets so instead of taking Brian I took Frank, the swiss tourist.

I think Frank, the swiss tourist, enjoyed the show.

Hilarity ensued, and we made it home at 6:30am, having attempted to run the bar in a responsible manner and only vaguely succeeded. Fantastic.

My good friend David, who I've known since I was 19, was Miss Germany in 2007! I haven't heard which part he played this year.... :-)
