Cooky me

Its 6pm on Wednesday and I'm still at work. I'm cooking cauliflower and blue cheese soup while my projects render. My boss is somewhat puzzled.

:-)

Ricky goes back to Australia on Friday, and we're throwing a dinner party for him. I'm making the soup, someone else the main, and someone else the dessert. Should be interesting, as Ricky is a bit of a chef himself and we'll all be trying our best :-)

I'd be doing better if I wasnt trying to cook with a thin-bottomed pot on a ceramic-top stove though.. Grrr. I hate electric at the best of times, but when you're making soup its particularly annoying.

Ricky stayed last night, a very quiet night as I wasnt feeling particularly sexy, and I think he's staying tonight as well. And Im feeling *much* better. heh heh.

Cauliflower and blue cheese soup - a cream base? Will you leave intact chunks of cauliflower in the soup, or puree it to consistency? And something about what you've mentioned already is screaming "minced chives as garnish" in the back of my head...

But enough about spunky white liquids. Have fun tonight, Growler!

LOL its an easy one- soften onions and garlic with butter in the pot, add a chopped cauliflower, stock, 2 rashers of bacon, and 2 pints of milk. Bring to the boil until the cauliflower is soft. Put in a blender, and crumble blue cheese into it while its blending. Salt and pepper to taste.

Yummo

And we had crispy kumara strips as garnish last night :-) im STILL full..

And healthy too. Except for the half-pound of butter, the 2 pints of milk and the blue cheese...
