boots
I need a new pair of boots. My worn-every-day HD steelcaps are getting a bit soft round the edges- the lining's worn out, the soles are smooth and one of them's starting to split, the steel's poking through the leather in a couple of places.
But I'm torn: what to replace them with? a few options:

Logging boots.
+ Tough, strong, durable. Horny as all hell.
- Brown. And would you LOOK at the price?!?!
Update: NZ Safety, $332.33. Loggershop.co.nz: $276.75. Profarm farming suplies: $249.00. Sold! Should arrive on Tuesday... :-)

Firefighter's safety boots
+ Tough & durable, fireproof, black.
- not quite as horny as the logging boots.

General-purpose high-top safety boot
+ good styling, love the red sole
- all those eyelets would soon piss me off

+ More street-oriented sole, kinda good looking, black.
- not keen on the shape of the toe, looks a bit cheap...
Opinions?

I'll look out for Rico and Georgia boots, but here in NZ we get mostly local stuff..

My choice is the firefighter, not only for its slick good looks, snappy strap and trick under-tongue lacing, but they also have a front zipper, for that easy on, easy off thang that you might appreciate. I'd buy em if I could find them here.
