I need a new pair of boots. My worn-every-day HD steelcaps are getting a bit soft round the edges- the lining's worn out, the soles are smooth and one of them's starting to split, the steel's poking through the leather in a couple of places.
But I'm torn: what to replace them with? a few options:

Logging boots.
+ Tough, strong, durable. Horny as all hell.
- Brown. And would you LOOK at the price?!?!
Update: NZ Safety, $332.33. Loggershop.co.nz: $276.75. Profarm farming suplies: $249.00. Sold! Should arrive on Tuesday... :-)

Firefighter's safety boots
+ Tough & durable, fireproof, black.
- not quite as horny as the logging boots.

General-purpose high-top safety boot
+ good styling, love the red sole
- all those eyelets would soon piss me off

+ More street-oriented sole, kinda good looking, black.
- not keen on the shape of the toe, looks a bit cheap...
Opinions?

Date: 2005-06-03 04:10 am (UTC)My choice is the firefighter, not only for its slick good looks, snappy strap and trick under-tongue lacing, but they also have a front zipper, for that easy on, easy off thang that you might appreciate. I'd buy em if I could find them here.
