Here at work we're right next to a particularly tricky intersection off a busy road, with the consequence that we get to see a LOT of minor accidents, about one a week. Today's one, though, was a bit upsetting.
The screech was short, the crash loud, and the swearing even louder. Brand-spanking-new Mercedes, still on dealer plates, rammed into the back of a stationary Toyota Corona. The Corona appears absolutely undamaged, not so the Merc, which lost its front bumper, folded the hood up, and is spewing coolant.
The driver of the Merc is a young guy, maybe 20 at the most, wearing overalls. Between sobs we learn that he's the car groomer at the dealership, first day on the job. And now, as he put it, he's fucked.
Someone get the man a cup of tea.
