Earthquakes in LA?

So who felt that? According to Xeni there was a 3.? followed by a 5.? about 70 miles east of downtown LA...

Update: Yes I know earthquakes happen all the time and no-ones impressed any more. New Zealand is one big fault-line with a few volcanoes thrown in for good measure, so I'm well acquainted with earthquakes. I was merely interested in who, if anyone, actually felt those two. (The last one I felt made me wonder if my hangover was worse than I thought- until I looked at Mo and saw he had the same "was that an earthquake or was it just me?" look...)

Me, me....see my post...down in San Diego. Felt worse than a closer one just about a week ago.

A 3 isnt much of a big deal even when its closer to LA, kinda the same for a 5. 70 miles east is basically the middle of nowhere.

No one seems to be impressed by 3's or 5's. The 8's and 10's seem to get their attention though.

Liquefication of internal organs tends to catch one's attention...

Do you mean 8" or 8.0 Richter? I suppose either would do it.

Actually I meant Liquifaction, not liquification. But I think 8" would feel like 8.0 in any case...

Did the earth move for you?

7.3 feels like 9.5" (and 5" around)--you really know you're getting fucked!

I haven't felt anything seismic since early 2001 when we had a 6.8 south of Seattle. I was in an old masonry building that rocked like hell. And I was at a urinal. That was fun.

There was a 3.5 in Yacaipa followed by a 3.7 a few seconds later. But that's nothing. Those are just little baby quakes. Nothing to worry about

oops.. usually that site updates right away. it wasn't showing it yet. There was two quakes. But still 5.1 isn't that big for here. It's a good shaker

Oh honey, Californians barely blink at a 5.0, more so when it's 70 miles off the coast. There was a 7.0 off the coast up near me a few days ago... never felt it.
