Panic quietly in the background
Feb. 17th, 2004 09:18 amBusy week ahoy! but first, a Mini-update:
We got the Mini running again last night. I stripped, cleaned and reassembled the brakes and fitted a couple of fuel filters. A squirt of oil down each plughole to bring the compression up and Minge fired right up. well, right up after 30 seconds cranking, which isnt bad for a 40 year old car that hasnt been run for 9 months. Minge sat there rattling softly to herself, showing off her perfectly stereotypical A-series idle. Driving her round the block reminded me of all the adventures we've had- driving up and down country, dirt roads, and that glorious coast road to Thames...
Nicholas took her for a spin up Mt Eden, grinning constantly (apart from when he was trying to get the hang of the clutch ;-)) I think Ive found someone I'm perfectly happy to entrust with Minge's care and feeding.
Now the rest of the week...
Tonight I have to get the Sprite rolling again. Refit front suspension, attach bonnet somehow, inflate tyres. If i can get that done I might even have time to visit Andrew and discuss extending the room I'm moving into.
Wednesday Morris is coming up- on the Harley if the weather's suitable (it'll be fun when he arrives at work to pick me up LOL) Might drag
debxena out to dinner with us, I need to catch up with her and Mo is keen to meet my friends. They will get along just fine, theyre both dirty bitches... Somehow I doubt I'll be getting much sleep on Wednesday night, i have this funny feeling Morris is as horny as I am.
Thursday I might start taking stuff to the new flat or, failing that, start building the room extension at the new flat.
Friday and Rick's coming up to 'help me get the Sprite ready' for Saturday morning. I presume thats a euphemism for 'shag like rabbits' because the Sprite doesnt really need all that much preparation eh ;-)
And of course the weekend will be moving the Sprite home to TeAroha and staying there. :-D
