The boys have been excitedly discussing where they're going to take me- Thailand, Sydney, Melbourne, Wellington, the UK, so on- its an exciting concept, but by yesterday i was starting to feel uncomfortable about my husbears spending all that money on me. Rick and Mo have worked hard to get where they are, and I'm cautious about bringing my hard-earned poverty and ludicrous debt to the relationship. I want to contribute my share, to be equal in every way I can, but my current (soon to be rectified) situation precludes that.
While we were driving back up to Auckland I mentioned this to Rick, and we had a good talk about it. The boys' attitude is that, for the meantime, I am to look after my debts and not worry too much about the other stuff- and, on reflection, it seems that theyre thinking about this far more logically than I was. The plan I had for myself (pay off the debt FAST and enjoy nice things afterwards) is still the best plan for everyone.
Besides there will be plenty of time and opportunities to repay the boys for all their kindness :-)
