Shocking...

I had a wee parcel arrive for me yesterday. Fedex. 'Novelty item' it said. Waiting for me when I got home at 11pm. (Home from a lovely evening with a very nice man, I must add)

Batteries included. Would be a crime not to try it out...

Now lets see, this pad goes.. here, this pad can go... here, plug the wires in, right, make sure its turned off, install the battery, yes thats where it goes, and turn it on carefully. Hmm, not much happening. What if I turn it up a bit? a bit more? all the way? well, I can feel that but its no big deal. hang on, whats this switch do?

the mighty Isuzu Piazza. Well, two of them. Guess which one's mine.

Although I've maintained that they will, someday, be a collectors item, I've always been aware that the standard 2.0 litre model is a bit pedestrian, and the Turbo will be the one to collect. Guess what I found in the paper today...



Aye. The most collectible Turbo of them all. An early one, before they figured out that they were too powerful and detuned them. 150bhp. 160lb/ft. Factory intercooler. Factory spoiler kit. Limited-slip diff. Variable-boost wastegate. Manual (as in, 'stick shift', not as in 'workshop manual' although it comes with one of those too :-)

Red. A dusty, faded, possibly unrestorable red. Personally I dont like red cars, but its the only colour to have your Piazza turbo in.

Oh and the price? $450. Its been sitting for a couple of years, and the doors are rusty, but thats about it. Started first go with healthy oil pressure, and the boost gauge even twitched.

I think I shall buy it. Tomorrow.
