Warm fuzzies
Jul. 13th, 2005 03:29 pmPicked up Odran from his stalag hostel last night and headed straight to the supermarket. We sure know how to treat tourists around here! We trundled up and down the aisles until the sheer excitement of the place started to make Odran giddy and a little hyperactive, and then went to Alan and Pauls for dinner.
I amused Odran and Alan for all of 2 minutes by playing the first 10 seconds of each track on my computer and having them guess what the song was. It's scary how much cheesy '80s pop is filed away in an Irishman's head, the only one they didnt get was Laura Branigan singing 'solitaire' (which Paul got pretty much straight away.)
Paul hadmade fresh pasta by hand, lovingly shaping each tortellino to perfection opened a packet of pasta and cooked it off with a yummy pasta sauce, which I complemented with banana dumplings + lemon gin sauce. (yes, most of the gin made it into the sauce. Honest. *hic*) Even Cody liked it- despite it not being made from crackers or tinned tuna. Yes, people, I am THAT skilled in the kitchen.
A combination of stodgy food, wine, and bad TV saw us all beginning to nod off, and so Odran declared it was time to go home. I graciously offered to drive him home. My home. Who needs a hot water bottle when theres a pathologically snuggly bear in your bed?
