Romantic...
Nov. 10th, 2005 07:45 amSo, at someone's urging, I rented 'Jeremiah Johnson' and started watching it last night. And kept watching, and watching, until it was 1am and the movie was over. I think I'll probably watch it again tonight too- I love it! The depiction of mountain men, all the lonesome travelling and hunting through the mountains, making their own way and working hard, has me all wistful with romantic notions. Oh and Robert Redford with a big red beard isn't half bad either.
Unintentionally hilarious moment: Jeremiah's relationship with his indian bride is slowly blooming, though they still cant speak to each other. In this one scene he proudly shows her a beaver he just trapped, and she responds enthusiastically- to me its a wee visual pun. "Beaver?" "Why yes, husband!" :-D
Okay so it's '70s, the acting is occasionally forced, and it kind of just stops rather than ends- but I still love it.
