Birthday Boy!

It's Damien's birthday, and he got a kitten for his birthday. So small and furry, cute and playful. Oh and the kitten's nice too.

Oh and sorry to disappoint, but Damien's happily partnered to Jae, a big hunky bruiser of a bear. The photos of Jae didnt come out very well- but there will be more in future.

Wading in...

My friends page has gone *nuts* for 'Brokeback Mountain'. To save you all from having to read every post regarding the film, allow me to identify the two underlying themes and condense all 38 entries into two;

I hate Brokeback Mountain and the hype surrounding it. It's tragic and depressing and I dont see why people like it so much. I haven't seen it and I dont intend to.

I was moved by Brokeback Mountain as it put a human face to the plight or repressed or closeted homosexuals. I've seen it and I love it.

For the record, the book is my favourite book of all time, and I intend to go see the film just to make sure it lives up to the book's emotional power. But then again I'm the kind of over-empathic freak who enjoys a compelling story even if it doesnt have a score by Elton John.
