Fuckin pauls!!

Ya know how I bought me a nice new car? and how I'd kept it a secret from Paul1 because it will be fun to see his reaction to it? Well Paul3 is about to go pick the boys up from the airport, so I sent him a wee message saying "Dont forget Paul1 doesnt know about my new car, keep it a secret!"

and then...

(yes, you've guessed it)

...sent it to Paul1.

Ah bugger. And I was doing so well. Paul1 is in the air but the first thing he'll do when he lands is to turn on his phone and receive the first message, followed immediately by one that says "Ah fuck, wrong paul."

Oh, but the boys are back in 2 hours!!! WHEE!!

The MR2 is a sharply angular wee wedge, all square edges and chunky rectangular details. Including, I have discovered, the tyres.

My tyres are square. I jacked the car up and spun the front wheels and, sure enough, ba-dump, ba-dump it went. This goes a long way to explaining the shimmy at high speed, and the 2-year gap in the ownership history when the car did only 1500km: because it was sitting in one place. Flattening its tyres.

Now, its possible that this will work itself out after a couple of long hot runs, but the trip back from Hamilton should have been enough to cure it- I think it may be new tyre time.
