Sep. 10th, 2006 10:11 pmMy fingers are black with grease and grime, and no matte rhow hard I scrub it just wont come out. I'm not actually complaining though. :-) This weekend I finished the suspension on the car; new urethane bushes front to rear, new knuckle joints everywhere, stainless braided brake hoses, and grease everywhere else.
It drives fantastically now. The suspension is supple yet controlled, the back steps out smoothly and controllably, the steering communicative. I'm very, VERY happy.
I even got around to fitting a new exhaust oxygen sensor, which seems to have made the car happier. I managed to shear off an sensor mounting stud though, and for a while there it looked like I would be crawling around in the mud getting a replacement from a wrecked car, but I (re)discovered Gun Gum, a cement-like exhaust system goop that hardens to the consistency of rock. Perfect for sealing my new O2 sensor with just one mounting stud. (Yeah, cheating I know, but I'll replace it properly someday. Promise.)
There's a guy wrecking a green/gold MR2 up north- I may have to drive up there this week and relieve him of his bumpers. Whee!!
