Jun. 20th, 2008 04:03 pmIt's never a good sign when your property manager begins a phone call with "You're not going to believe what I just saw".
Seems the youngsters upstairs have been neglecting to pay their rent, and when they were finally asked to leave they decided that this was the perfect opportunity to leave behind anything they didn't want. Furniture, broken appliances, trash up to your knees, food rotting in the fridge.
I dont see them getting any of their bond back. I do, however, see us ending up more than a little behind. Might have to hire a skip, park it out the back and just start biffing things out the windows. We'll put the appliances on TradeMe and see what happens (hey, $20 is better than nothing I guess) and hope the place comes up clean without needing too much in the way of paint and renovation.
Some people have wondered if the space would be ideal for me, but no. There's no carparking, no workshop, and no outdoor space.
