Retr0brite
Mar. 4th, 2009 12:47 amSome clever lads in the vintage computer world have developed a DIY technique for restoring those old yellowed plastics from your vintage computers.

Seems the culprit is the bromide flame retardants used in the old beige plastics- they go yellow with exposure to sunlight. Luckily the reaction can be completely reversed without damage to the plastic.
The history, recipe, and instructions for Retr0brite can be found on the Retr0brite wiki page, and it looks fairly simple to make and use.
Hopefully this helps those nutters out there who are into outdated computers like Ataris and such.
You know who you are.
