What? WHAT!?!

I discovered that my bike helmet is not particularly soundproof, particularly when riding through a hailstorm. It started with a random 'Pock!' 'Pock!' and suddenly turned into an almighty roar as everything was pelted with ice at terminal velocity. I'm glad I was wearing my leathers, because I could feel the force of the rain through them and I'm sure it would have hurt like hell in anything less sturdy.

By the time I parked up at the bar the whole street looked like an ice-skating rink, and was about as exciting to ride on.

Time for warm clothes.
