Time Zones, Windows Mobile, and my bloodstained brick wall.

Here's the issue that's had me sleepless: When I change the time zone on my PC, Outlook doesn't care and leaves all my appointments alone. But when I change the time zone on my Windows Mobile device, Pocket Outlook shifts all my appointments to the new time zone- putting them a day and 5 hours out when I travel between New Zealand and Seattle.

It's the inconsistency that screws up my planning. Microsoft's recommendation is to set all appointments in local time by doing the time-shift in your head before setting the appointment, (then when you change locations the appointment times will update on your device) but there's two issues with that:

-if an appointment in Seattle is at 10am, I want to look at my calendar and see a 10am appointment *even if I'm still in New Zealand*.

-I make an appointment on my device, corrected for the anticipated time zone change. I then sync with my PC, and the appointment appears in Outlook still with the corrected time value. I then fly to the new time zone and change time zones on both my device and on the PC. Next time I sync, the uncorrected appointment from Outlook and the corrected appointment from my device both show up in my calendar- and I have to go delete the incorrect one.

There is a (simple?) solution.
-Make sure the device is synced
-Delete sync relationships from Activesync on both PC and device (this deletes all synced appointments from device)
-Change time zones on both devices (since there are no appointments to screw up on the device)
-Recreate the sync relationship and sync your device. Appointments are added to the device without messing with their times.

It's a bit messy if you're in four time-zones a day, but fine if you're just on holiday like I am.
