Friday: reprieve by Seuss.

Grant did you select that file?
I did I did, I reply.
Grant did you then hit 'delete'?
I did, I say, and bid retreat.

I did not mean to press that key,
My finger slipped, honestly!
A network drive does not forgive,
the file is gone, I may not live.

Recovery is tried in vain
A fortnight's work gone down the drain.

Grant hits the wrong button and his fate was sealed
to a higher authority he could not have appealed
for computers are the work of the devil, not god
and pressing the wrong button can be a real sod

Ah, but it was a file on someone else's machine. All our drives are mirrored, so drive failure isnt a problem, but normally when we work we save versions of everything. This guy had been overwriting the same file for 2 weeks... and then I deleted it.
We've had an IT guy yelling at us already. Plans are afoot to at least copy project files into a few different locations every evening...
