Romantic...

So, at someone's urging, I rented 'Jeremiah Johnson' and started watching it last night. And kept watching, and watching, until it was 1am and the movie was over. I think I'll probably watch it again tonight too- I love it! The depiction of mountain men, all the lonesome travelling and hunting through the mountains, making their own way and working hard, has me all wistful with romantic notions. Oh and Robert Redford with a big red beard isn't half bad either.

Unintentionally hilarious moment: Jeremiah's relationship with his indian bride is slowly blooming, though they still cant speak to each other. In this one scene he proudly shows her a beaver he just trapped, and she responds enthusiastically- to me its a wee visual pun. "Beaver?" "Why yes, husband!" :-D

Okay so it's '70s, the acting is occasionally forced, and it kind of just stops rather than ends- but I still love it.

I was about 6 when it came out and it was somewhat of a sexual awakening for me. Le woof.

Me loves it when the bear chases the old mountain man through the cabin! LOL

Can you blame him? Wuff!!

Just as long as we dont get attacked by bears and natives... present company excepted, of course. ;-))

I think the 70's makeup looks a bit fake as well.

But at least the beard was real.

I wasn't able to stay awake for all of it.

I'll...

...have to get hold of this at some point. Looks fun. I got a big red beard much to the amusement of M.

BTW G, as per previous post/reply - gay guys going lap-dancing does not count as crazy as it's a non-starter. It'd be like me going to see the Chippendales (no not the cartoon hamsters) the chances of it getting "out of hand" are zero.
Me going lap-dancing in Prague and it ending in 4 hours of debauchery is however ;o)

See!! even the token straight boy gets it. Gay boys can go and get lap dances and it be just a bit of fun and not sexual at all, just the same as a straight guy can go to a gay bar and just enjoy the company. Which reminds me- when ARE you coming to NZ? I have a favourite bar to take you to now (and M if she likes)
