Sony can eat my shorts.

To Disable autoplay, easily and completely, on all drives, in Windows XP Pro

1) Click Start, Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC

2) Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System.

3) Locate the entry "Turn off Autoplay"

4) Right click and choose 'properties'

5) Select 'enabled' and click 'apply' (yes, its confusing- you're *enabling* 'turn OFF autoplay')

No more self-installing DRM. Pop in a Sony disk and rip with your favourite ripper. I prefer Poikosoft's Easy CD-DA Extractor, which clearly separates audio and data tracks on a CD.

Hmmm... I like the DAE tool in PlexToolsPro that came with my recently purchased nifty-keen Plextor DVD-DL burner, in part because it uses all the error correction features of the drive, and also becase Exact Audio Copy either does a horrendous blue-screen crash - or fails to see the aforementioned drive.

The one thing PTP doesn't do is create a .cue file to rebuild an exact copy of the original disc's layout.

Are you calling me Sony now?
