I do like Vodafone again... I called up today to ask why I couldnt get through to Alaska recently, and while we were waiting for a technician to run some tests I mentioned that it was incredibly frustrating to not be able to call my Alaskan boyfriend. Vodafone lady said "Oh! it must be terrible being so far away, we cant have you unable to call, hang on I'll put you through to a senior technician who should be able to resolve this..."

Half an hour later the technician called me back to say that I was the only person on the network who called Alaska regularly, so he'd changed the routing of Alaska numbers to use one of their better carriers, and that he hoped I had a great time at christmas!

And not far away either. You are gonna have to help me decorate the tree and hang stockings. :o)

Ok, as long as I dont have to wear stockings while doing it...

Oh yes indeed.. and I just bought 3 warm thermal tops, a dozen socks, and a new polarfleece jacket- as well as the two woolen swanndris. I figure if I wear them all at once I should be ok...

Why dont you ring from a phone box like a normal person?

*gasp!*

someone might *see* me!

I assume you're concerned about the constabulary rather than simple embarrassment?

No no no, not *that* sort of phone call. Someone might see me using a public appliance! It would be so much worse even than that time I was waiting for james to bring the car around, standing too close to a bus stop, and a friend saw me and thought I was waiting for an omnibus!

oh the shame.

There's nothing else "normal" about him, why expect his phone habits to be?

*grin*duck*run*

with his imagination? he'd find himself in the Tardis in no time at all...

Hmm, phone sex from a public call box. That could be interesting

Nice folks there at Vodafone - no anti-gay crap when you mentioned boyfriend, only some good ole fashioned customer service.

I thought that cell phones were normal and I was abby normal for not havin one.

Its a very small country and gays are evenly distributed in our small communities- you quickly learn not to disparage *anyone* because chances are they're associated with you in ways you dont know yet...

I visited NZ back in the mid 80s. A very beautiful country, with very friendly people. We drove around the South Island for 2 weeks or so and I had a great time. It was very interestin to see many of the plants we use in landscapin in their native habitat. I traveled with my then partner and his parents who had sailed their boat from San Fransisco to New Zealand - it's funny but everywhere we went people thought we were Canadians.

On the way back we stopped in Fiji for a few days and drove entirely around the island. The Native Fijians really took a likin to me - I think it was the beard and hair, but the Indians [or are they Pakastani?] didn't like me at all - I had several confrontations with them.
