For some reason I really enjoy working on hydraulic car or bike brakes. Taking the caliper apart, easing the pistons out, completely stripping, cleaning, and reassembling. It's so satisfying to take a dirty, seized, rattly caliper and turn it into shiny and efficient brakes.

The bike now has good-as-new front brakes. No more 'clonk' when applied, no slight sponginess followed by slight grabbiness, just a smooth, responsive feel with great feedback. So *thats* what they're supposed to feel like.

A Honda rebuild kit made the master cylinder refurbishment very easy. Disassemble, throw away old parts, install new ones, and you're done. Left me wondering what I'd done wrong... but so far nothing too horiffic has shown up.
