I went shopping last night, in an actual supermarket. The last time I was in a supermarket was when Paul3 convinced me to go shopping with him, which turned out to be an exercise in frustration.
For fuck's sake, the reason a supermarket has a range of products is so that you can just buy the one you usually get. Stopping to debate the merits of various brands, for every item on your list, is NOT how to buy basic food items.
I have a system. I go to ONE supermarket, I learn the layout. I write my shopping list in the order things appear on my circuit of the supermarket- I even visualise my route, to be sure I wont forget anything. I get my trolley, and once moving I do not stop.
Ever notice that in any supermarket, everyone browses the aisles in the same direction- except the deformed woman you cant help but gape at, or the slimy dwarf who cruises you relentlessly. Those exceptions are always going the *wrong way*, dooming you to encounter head-on in every aisle.
Anyway, last night I went with Paul1, and he shops like I do. Excellent. We trundled up and down the aisles, loaded the trolley, and got out. I bought a few items I have never tried before (cheese spread? Oreos?) and generally stocked up on staples. Same again next week! I'm enjoying the thought of having food in the cupboard.

Later, Paul cooked us chicken soup, pork and veggies, and apple pie. Yum! If I'd been a little less sick I would have eaten more, but it was delicious all the same. Off home later to trawl the internet and become an expert on depression drugs and treatments and the NZ healthcare system. How exciting.

St Johns Wort is a naturall anti depression drug which works. Available in supermarkets and does not have all the side effects of prescription ones

Only problem is that St Johns Wort interacts with many other drugs- the changeover from prescription antidepressants to St Johns Wort can be troublesome. But definitely something to keep in mind for the future...
