I'm altogether too careless with my toys. I thought I'd lost the Alaskan until he turned up safe and well at a friend's place. Poor bear. I'm going out today to get him a cellphone.

Very careless indeed! Could be grounds for reporting you to the Bear Care Society for negligence!
Maybe a label around his neck and you could re-name him Paddington? Does he like marmalade?

I know. I'm kinda bummed but watching finaces and such for right now. There will always be next year! And as soon as I am settled and what not I have FF miles I can use for tickets to Australia. :o)
