Wedgie

The wedge just failed its warrant.

"washers dont work" (reservoir is empty)
"centre driveshaft bearing is worn out" (its been worn out for 3 years. They never complained before.)
"rear springs are loose in their seats" (They, too, have been loose for 3 years.)

Its a stupid, stupid system that wont let you go to another garage for a second opinion. I'm a stupid, stupid person for going back to the same garage each time...

My old man got ticketed for no warrant a couple of years back (it had failed immediately prior to going on a trip).

The failure was due to a rear tyre, which the old man thought had nothing wrong with it, and his mate who worked at a tyre co thought was perfectly safe and legal too. So he took it back to the same testing station, chucked it in the retest lane, and a different guy passed EXACTLY THE SAME tyre.

He wrote a letter to the cops explaining all this, and amazingly enough, got the fine waived.

Well I thought this particular garage would go easy on me because one time they tried to charge me for a new headlamp bulb- but when I checked the 'new' bulb i found it was a genuine Isuzu part. Chances of them fitting a factory bulb to my car? unlikely. I went ballistic... it seems they have lifted their standards though, and in so doing are picking up work that has needed to be done for years.
