Oh, I really hope Saab don't die like the rest of GM's wilting brands. Having flung the previous generation 9-5 Aero around for a month or so, I ended up with a new appreciation for the brand. They're big and soft and dreadfully quirky, not to mention the image problems, but get past that and they can take a thrashing with aplomb.

I think this new 9-5 looks rather attractive, in a Saab-like kind of way. They've really exaggerated the bluff front and high windshield, tapering to a weird rump.

In high school, I drove a 1976 lime green Saab, the fourth driver out of my family. It was dead and buried with services held in my driveway my senior year... LOL
