growler_southBrian was distinctly unhappy about getting up at 4:30am, though he did volunteer to drive the first stretch while I napped in the passenger's seat. The 8-hour drive to Wellington used to be such a long day, but after doing 12-hour days around the US it's like driving next door. Sort of.
Arriving at 2:30pm certainly makes the trip seem shorter. And now we get to spend 3 days with the family... time will tell how that goes.
