The joyful happiness of Diesel Keiki.

Compared to the sticky, greasy mess that the timing belts and water pump were mired in, the diesel injector pump is a joy. Everything is clean and shiny, having been bathed in fresh diesel all its life. There's some bacterial growth, and a couple of globs of irresponsibly applied sealant that have lodged where they shouldnt be, but in general it's lovely.

It's also very, very complicated. Timing, duration, advance, volume- all mechanically controlled by fiendishly clever stack of cams, plungers, levers and springs. All of which are currently laid out on a clean shop towel on the workbench, ready for reassembly. If I can remember where they all go ;-)

I have do doubt that you will know where each and every little part goes.

Looks like a Bosch pump!

It's a licensed copy, and practically identical. And not all that complicated once it's together.
