growler_southMade it home in one piece, which is rather more than I had expected, given the dire condition of the plane I flew back on. I narrowly avoided having a cavity search at the metal detector- my belt buckle set the thing off and I was treated to the starfish/wand exercise. The guard was quite cute- Next time I'll have to stuff my shoes with nails I think ;-)
Auckland is WARM. Hurrah!! Dean picked me up at the airport, i'm off to dinner with him and our old friend Hamish on monday night.
I scooted into town and picked up a couple of cigars- one for tonight (underwear or footy shorts only night at Urge) and one for later. Tonight I'll have the Romeo & Julietta Robusta I think, mainly because I know what to expect and its also a fat 50 ring- looks scarier ;-) The other is an Upmann 42 ring Corona, which I havent tried before, but the gravel-voiced saleslady at the tobacconist recommended it based on my other purchases- she remembers everyone it seems.
