Three things that make me happy:

The clutch slave cylinder from my new Piazza/Impulse turbo. The very early, stupidly-fast ones had this wee solenoid. Below 4000rpm the clutch behaves normally- engaging and disengaging as quickly as you care to move your left foot. Above 4000rpm though, this solenoid engages a restricted passageway in the clutch slave cylinder, so the clutch engages a bit more gradually- it was Isuzu's simple solution to ensure the drivetrain could withstand any sort of abuse- full power standing starts included.



For bikerbearmark and subwoofr among others- me in my new leathers! in the rain! in the only photo of 6 that didnt look like I was stoned or asleep or posing like one of the incredibles! New leather trousers make me feel sexy and dirty and horny... and worked at Urge last night too :-D

So, the clutch slave cylinder on the right I recognize. The doohickey on the left is the solenoid you describe above? How does it hook up?

As for the leathers, well, I'm afraid to comment on them for fear I'll be reduced to obscene, gutteral, inarticulate grunting noises of one sort or another...

Then again, since when would that be anything new? Fuckin' WOOF, Growler!

The solenoid is nearly lined up- it bolts into the port you can see on the top left of the slave cylinder. Fluid from the master cylinder flows through the hole in the solenoid (between the balck O-rings) and out past the flanged bit you can see sticking out- unless the solenoid is energized, in which case the fluid has to flow through a tiny hole in the flanged thingy, which engages the clutch more gently. No broken drivetrain for me :-)
