IT arrived today. I knew the the RHB5-VF8 was a big turbo, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT BATMAN this is insane! YEs, that is a full-size CD, not a CD-single. If my transmission ever breaks I could just point the outlet backwards and use it as a jet engine. I'm hoping to keep my existing exhaust turbine housing, as then I wont have to make up a new O2 housing and manifold flange adapter, but that will depend on my existing housing mating nicely with the turbine wheel on this turbo.

Excited about new toys. Afraid I'm turning into a boy racer. Complete with bad taste in cars.

12psi yields a good 260hp, which is PLENTY for a short wheelbase RWD with all the weight in the front...

Got intercooling?

And you do recall me putting my hand up for a white knuckle ride? :)

Factory intercooler. This is ISUZU after all, they build trucks. Over-engineering is their specialty. The Piazza would have sold a little better if they'd spent some time on the handling and dynamics, but ah well...

White knuckle rides all round I think, however I need to find a good large workshop for a couple of months to complete the bodywork in... Know anyone?

Good-oh!

Sorting out workshops is not really in my area of expertise.

Anything more complicated than replacing a bulb or fixing a loose central locking actuator involves me paying Toyota to do it, and they're pretty easy to find :)

it is done. Old exhaust housing bolts straight on to new turbo cartridge, so no need to modify exhaust system. Just need to change the inlet pipes and water cooling pipes and I'm off!!

Won't you have to fiddle with the wastegate actuator? or at least, the plumbing to it?

Nope, using my old wastegate actuator and bracket! and the plumbing's just a piece of hose going from the compressor outlet to the actuator can. Because its got an electronic boost controller, I dont need a pressure bleed line to increase the boost, I just need to put a resistor across the pressure sensor so it thinks its getting less boost than it is. Hurrah!
