Happy Birthday!!

So this weekend was an absolute blast. Starting with an intimate dinner for 9 at Ginas on thursday, Paul's birthday on Friday night was absolutely stunning. As is Paul (above, happily feeding the cats. He does everything happily- such a beautiful soul.) And I say that any party that ends with a gorgeous aussie hunk doing the dance of the 7 veils (with one bedspread) just cannot be beaten.

A late start on Saturday turned into a relaxing recovery BBQ...

and later I took Anthony out for coffee and to see Urge ("Its just like the Laird!" he said, "Only its the size of the Laird's bathroom.") and later to Lateshift, where I sat ont he couch and (apparently) frustrated a great many men. "Why did you just sit there?" asked Brent the next day. Because being in that sort of place just turns me right off. I had a couch, coffee, porn and car magazines, and I had a better time enjoying them than I would in a hundred random encounters. I was also still spinning out after the previous night of partying and very little sleep. We wont go into why I had little sleep, though it does bring me to the pleasant surprise of the weekend:

The Bushbears. Mo met them a while ago, and I've been putting off contacting them for a while, but this weekend I finally got to meet them. You couldnt find a more dynamic, lovely couple of bears if you tried, and I believe I've just found another couple of guys who will become close friends. I REALLY like the way my life's going right now...
Sunday, then, was roast dinner night- once again, at Paul and David's place, where I cooked yummy roast eye fillet with potatoes and roast beetroot and gravy. I'm good at roast (no bragging, I just worked hard at learning how to do it properly) and to return some of the love Paul and David have given to me was a privelege and a pleasure.
Underwear night at Urge was a lot of fun, I finally got the guts to chat to the nursery boys from Gordontown, had a cuddle with Simon and Neil, gave wee CJ a long hug (and made all the boys around go "awww"- CJ and I are practically identical twins) and then went home with Paul, as we were both VERY jaded by then.
Which brings us to today- A late but intense start as Paul was down and needed lots of love (no shortage of that in the house though, with all of us caring souls staying there) which culminated in Paul and David going for cuddles and a nap. I took the bushbears for coffee and souvenir shopping, and then back to Paul and Davids for a spa, gin & tonic, and nibbles.
A thoroughly civilised weekend for me, and one I'll remember forever.
Happy Birthday, Paul. You and David are wonderful, fabulous guys and I cant wait to share more time with you. Good times and bad times, I'll be looking out for you both.

Sometimes you sound just like me. Had I been in that very situation, I too would have just sat there, oblivious and happy.

Date: 2005-03-28 07:31 pm (UTC)Was Paul wearing his familiar brand of perfume? He looks so fine. And you can imagine my suspicion at the thoughts of a roast eye fillet for dinner! *grin* Did you wear your burqa to the Dance of the Seven Veils? Just wondering! And did the Bushbears do any whacking? So many questions! :-)
Answers:

> I, and everyone else, wore nothing to the dance. Funny how our clothes gradually disappeared...
> One of the bushbears had a good wack, the other is being coy. I'll just have to get over to Melbourne soon :-)
