I dont imagine a Peugeot would have done anywhere near as well as the famous Masport Works Escort team...
(Paddy tells me the brand-spankin-new Mk3 Cortina on the right was the course convenor's new car... whoops!! When Blair Robson crashed, he did it with style, it seems.)
Image is from the 1974 Reidrubber rally of New Zealand. The driver (crasher?) was Blair Robson, my boss' father. He came flying over the finish line in the rain, found that the wet-clay road offered absolutely no grip whatsoever, managed to guide the car between the finishing tent and the clustered officials, and rolled it, landing upright against the rally convenors car (a brand-new Cortina Mk3).
