is it just me, or are a disproportionate number of the gentlemen on Writeaprisoner.com from Texas? I'm getting the impression Texas is one state I want to avoid, avoid, avoid!!

That said, there's some hot guys like him and him on there (albeit murderers and evil marijuana-posessors)...

There are some decent folks in Texas (Former Governor Ann Richards, writers Molly Ivins and Jim Hightower, to name a few well known ones) but by and large it is definitely a place to avoid. Their legislature is stuck in the dark ages; after their own state supreme court finally voided the state's sodomy law, their legislature stubbornly rewrote and reinstated it. Granted, this led to the US supreme court voiding ALL sodomy laws in the country, but having one's state so resoundingly spanked for being jackasses just can't be seen as anything but revolting. Oh, and I think I've mentioned before - in TexASS, if you own 5 dildoes, you're a hobbyist; if you own 6, you're a felon with intent to distribute.

It's certainly true there are racial tensions in many parts of the USA; but Texas is (in)famous for having a black man dragged to death behind a pickup. (I bet there's some redneck asshole there upset that Wyoming stole their thunder with respect to gaybashing with the Matthew Shepard incident.)

As for the prisoners - that one barechested shot isn't of the prisoner. (Note that he claims to be blond in the data block...)
