Only as food. Normally we let them get a bit bigger for making traditional british hedgehog pie, but the little ones make tasty snacks when breaded and fried.

No, I dont raise hedgehogs- they're wild around here. And we don really eat them either- apart from the risk of catching mange, they're too cute!

Dylon Machine dye is the ONLY one to go for, get it from a chemist- it comes in a box with a sachet and instructions (from memory). Dont be tempted by the cheaper multi-purpose dye, its not colourfast. And follow the directions on the pack precisely- you'll need a bag of salt too.

Good luck!! dont forget to run a couple of clean loads through the machine after...
