Big Talk

Today's been pretty good. Rick came to stay last night, and waking up this morning with husbear2 snuggled up to me was pretty special. We had coffee near my work and made the cute chef look twice :-)

Later in the day Glenn asked me to have a chat with him in the studio. Uh-oh, I thinks, here comes a warning... but no. Glenn's really appreciative of the work I do, and would like to offer me a raise. He's also a bit concerned that I didnt seem happy at work- and we had a good chat about why I have been cranky for the last 6 months or so (surprise deadlines and demanding clients, mostly). He also gets a bit irritated whenever he sees me typing on the laptop when I should be working- I have sometimes caught myself doing less work than I ought, but mostly Im jsut killing time while my computer catches up. Glenn reckons we are due for faster computers ;-)

He also asked me about how my relationship with the boys was going- Was everything working out ok? How was I coping with the weekend commute? Was I considering finding a new job closer to TeAroha? (Ah... so thats where this was heading...) No Glenn, everythings going fine, and although the distance is a bitch its not such an issue that I'd leave the company. I really appreciate what a good job I have and we all think its a good idea for me to stick to it for a while yet. Anyway, we're looking into buying a place in Auckland, which should be indicative of what my plans for the future are...

Later today, just to prove my point, I finished this week's work a day and a half early.

Then it was off to meet Nicholas for dinner- he graciously let me thrash the Mini around Auckland- she's running as sweetly as ever, and I was pleased to discover I hadnt forgotten how to drive her properly. Much fun was had in that car and Im still much pleased that she's found such a good home. Nicholas was saying he encountered Taz at the last bears' night, and Taz was fondly remembering the Mini :-)

Brrrr

Its so cold I can see my breath in the air. In my bedroom.

Is it any wonder I'm refusing to get out of bed?
