I seem to have a Sony addiction.

it all started with the the MDR-EX51s. Sony's shiny new 9mm drivers and super comfortable silicon earpieces made quite an impression, with clean, well-balanced sound and acceptable blocking of external noise. $89

Then came the MDR-EX11, with the same drivers and silicon earpieces, but also active noise cancelling. No more droning airplanes or cars or bosses interfering with the music. Fantastic. unfortunately made in Korea and suffered from poor quality materials- the thin 4-core wires only lasted about 6 months before something inside broke, no matter how careful I was. 3 replacements later and I asked for a refund.

After a foolish dalliance with a set of Philips noise-cancelling earbuds (huge, clunky, and ugly despite working well) I bought a set of HBH-DS970 bluetooth headphones. Great sound and a pretty form factor as well as phone call handling made them pretty damn nifty- however the bluetooth on my phone didnt handle A2DP particularly well, and I missed noise-cancelling too much, so they had to go back.

I had withdrawals from noise-cancelling, and just in time Sony released the MDR-NC22. Gorgeous, miniscule, and with the best noise cancelling yet. Oh and still with those fabulous 9mm drivers and silicon earpieces. But now I was back with the wires and cables and stuff... if only the HBH-DS970's had noise cancelling as well as bluetooth! Ah well. You cant have it all.
or can you.

Introducing the HBH-DS980. Bluetooth. High-quality audio and media player controls. 9mm drivers and silicon earpieces. noise cancelling.
If you need me I'll be pacing by the letterbox.
