Yessss...!!!
Jan. 23rd, 2008 05:11 pmI have just found the driver patch that makes my new iPaq recognise SDHC* cards. For now I'm happy with my $39.90 4GB card, but there's 16GB cards just around the corner, and it wont be long till they're below the magic $100 price barrier. that is, *my* magic $100 price barrier.
Oh, and the card (half the size of a postage stamp) came in a box bigger than a shoebox. Pics tomorrow.
*SDHC, Secure Digital High Capacity, is the new standard for SD memory cards. Because they use different formatting, most SD card readers cant read SDHC. Windows Mobile devices are different, in that the driver resides in Windows rather than in the card reader firmware. Simply extract the SDHC driver from a new SDHC-compatible device, install driver in old, pre-SDHC device, and you're up to date. Gotta love it!!
