OMG insane

Dinner last night at mikeybill's to bid farewell to Kev. A lovely affair which culminated in us watching the most incredible late news item ever. SCenes from a porn movie shown on broadcast TV. Unheard of. Insane. And then there's the way they cover up the naughty bits- you just have to watch it.

The best part was that the distributor who had brought the interviewees and stars to New Zealand was right there with us- we all howled with laughter throughout, he just stared, gape-jawed and bug-eyed, not believing what he was seeing. "You couldnt beg TV for better publicity," he said. "And fuck- I'm completely twatted, but now I have to go to work. There's international press releases to write, tonight."

Brilliant.

My week month has suddenly become rather busy with overseas friends visiting. 27th, Lyndon. 1st, Rob from Canberra. 3rd, Tony from Sydney. 4th, Michael and Brian from Dallas. 5th, Rob from South Africa. 7th, Brian and Ian.

Bloody hell.

Yesterday I carefully made a couple of single-use molds around the engine mounts.

Then I accurately measured the 2-part flexible urethane and poured it into the molds.

And then it ALMOST COMPLETELY FAILED TO SET.

I'm not sure what went wrong. It's gone from molasses-like to sticky tar consistency. It's going to be a bitch to clean up.

Off to the parts store tomorrow to read through the Nolathane book, hopefully to find something the right shape. This is going to take a while.
