(no subject)

So after a month of trying to figure out why the glasswasher at Urge sometimes didn't do a spectacular job (checking the soap dispenser, filters, everything I could think of- not to mention having to check every glass to make sure it's clean before using it) I'm loading a tray into it last Saturday and wee Adam's watching me. And he says "Oh, do you have to press that button to get it to go?"

This isnt the first time Mum and Dad have made me cry, but it's definitely the first time that didnt involve being spanked with the wooden spoon and sent to bed without dessert.

To whom it may concern:

We, the parents of Grant Bowyer, wish to confirm that Brian Raymond Smith has been accepted into our family as Grant's partner.

Grant and Brian met a while ago through mutual friends and although Brian was living in the USA it did not deter them from forming a strong friendship that has progressed into a loving relationship.

We first met Brian in May 2008 when he was in New Zealand on holiday. He met our daughter and son in law and also my brother who was visiting from England. Brian proved to be a very honest and straight forward young man and we were pleased that Grant had found such a good friend.

Brian again visited New Zealand in December 2008 and spent Christmas Day with our family, as Grant's partner. We were thrilled to know of their commitment to each other and supported them in their decision to make their relationship official with a civil ceremony.

The civil ceremony was performed in Auckland on 20 April and the celebration party was held on 26 April.

Having seen the friendship between these two young men grow into a loving relationship, we both feel that this will be a life long partnership for Grant and Brian.
