No crappy plane. No!

It occurred to me last night that the flight I'm taking to LAX (flight NZ6) might not be one of the upgraded planes. A quick check with AirNZ and sure enough, its one of the stinky old beasts with shared entertainment and uncomfortable seats.

So I invoked the 'no charge for changes before departure' provision of my ticket, figured out which AKL-LAX flight has the upgraded plane, and changed to it. Flight NZ2, here we come!

The other advantage is that it gets into LAX at 1.55pm on the 23rd, rather than 7am, which means I only have 7 hours of torturous anticipation in the airport rather than 14.

Mmmmm personal entertainment system and leather seats makes me *happy*

I would happily give up leather seats, entertainment system, and meal to get an outlet and a broadband connection.

But, alas, I don't expect airplane broadband is a big priority at the moment.

Did ya see if you can get an earlier flight out of LA? It might be possible with a connection through Seattle or Portland. At least you wouldn't be bored sitting around.

Hold off on that application for a moment!! I asked Mr TravelAgent Man (hereafter referred to as 'fuckwit') to *absolutely confirm* that I would be allowed to leave the airport on the tickets I was on... he said "yeah, I think so". I pointed out to fuckwit that *last time* I asked he said "Sure! I've done it myself!"... that was four years ago though. Grrr... He's checking it out for me- I will hear from him tomorrow.

AARGH. I get the feeling that once a travel agent have your money, they dont care. Except Boof, of course, he's lovely.

I have to concur on the "fuckwit" - a lot has changed in the past 4 years in terms of travel, and just ASSuming everything is the same is ... clueless.
